Clannad – The Anime You CANNOT Miss

As many of you already know, Clannad is a new anime whose first episode was just recently aired in Japan on 4 October 2007. What crap! This date is the inception of Lustrous Realm and I actually missed the anime! Well, I’ve digressed. Putting that aside, now read on for my views regarding this anime.
My favourite scene
I trust that you all must have some knowledge regarding this anime, like what is it about and who are the main characters. Well basically, the main male character is Okazaki and the female, Nagisa. Expect to see love spark off between them (Well this is a definite, as this is a romance story afterall). I won’t dive further into the story, as you can jolly well read them in many other anime blogs. Instead, I will give everyone 3 reasons why you cannot afford to miss this anime and 3 reasons why you should not watch. So here goes:
WHY YOU SHOULD WATCH CLANNAD
1) There are 5 girls as the main characters.
Left to Right: Nagisa, Fuko, Kotomi, Kyou, Tomoyo
Well undoubtedly, girls are ALWAYS a turn-on in every anime, and Clannad doesn’t showcase only ONE but FIVE. I guess all of them will each have their own particular story to tell, so it will be worth it to wait patiently every week for the story to slowly unfold itself. You can say that I’m obsessed with Tomoyo… She’s just too hot and strong! Well I’m digressing again.
2) Much Creativity is used in Clannad.
There are as many animes as there are stars, thus in order to stand out among all of them, besides having a good plot, creativity in bringing out the story to the audience is also an important factor. I certainly have high hopes for this anime in terms of creativity in many scenes. My personal favourite will have to be the scene which showcases what the ‘Spectator’s View’ is like when Tomoyo pwned those bad guys. I was like “lol! lmao! Great!“. Watch out for more in the following episodes of Clannad!

3) Well, although this is not really a factor, I still have to say it… The ending theme, Dango Daikazoku, is surely one of the best ending themes ever.
The tune is just too alluring and dreamy and is perfect for listening at night. What’s more, it’s just too cute with all the little dangos! For those who want to download it, I have uploaded the song onto Gendou and you can download it here. Just create an account in Gendou and the song is yours.
WHY YOU SHOULD NOT WATCH CLANNAD
1) You have no taste at all.
2) You are lame, both literally and non-literally.
3) You are gay.

It reminds me of ‘The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’ like…alot. It’s great though! =] DANGOOODANGODANGOOO!

hi… indeed clannad is very one of the great anime I have watched. I’m downloading its episodes because I want to know the real story behind it. I can sense that it is interesting.

Don’t forget the boys. The main character can be such a jerk, and he makes the show for me. The pranks he plays are the best, and his best friend is a riot. The poor thing just won’t learn from his mistakes. He definitely is not the brightest bulb in the package, but he is cute.

hey good points, lol and those reasons of why you shouln’t watch it are pretty funny. Take it from me, i rarely see anime/manga ( I have only liked Evangelion and Ranma) but this anime is amazyng, great story, amazyng graphics, and you can make some strong connections with the characters (Onee-chan ;)). I am looking forward to see the entire thing.

CLANNAD is my favourite anime ever. I especially like Tomoyo’s combo kicks and the way she pwns that motorcycle. However, my favourite character would have to be Fuko Ibuki. She’s so cute~

Hi, just to say that I found the story on a top 10 cutest couples on youtube and I seen like 3 seconds of the intro and I knew that it would be the best anime I’d ever watch… so I watched the entire season 1 in 1 day and omg I don’t even know why I didn’t cry… well I’m a guy so I can’t cry but damn it was sooooooooooo good! just wanted to say this xD anyone that didn’t like it… idk what I’d do but it wouldn’t be good looking!

Im currently in the middle of watching the first season of Clannad and it’s frickin’ incredible……….If this series has not made you laugh or at least cry….even a little bit, then your just a horrible person…….Well looks like my Favorite anime xXxHoLiC is going to have to take a step down, which im really pissed about, cause I love CLAMP,………………….but…………….looks like I just can’t say no to a BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN AND ANIMATED SERIES like this.

If you haven’t seen the last season and the movie get your tissue boxes out. OMG! I don’t normal cry on stuff like this but I really felt it near the end. Love this anime. Watched season 1, 2, and the movie all in 2 days. Couldn’t stop.

Clannad is definately the best anime I’ve ever watched, up till I watched After Story, I thought that in general Lucky Star is better (ofc these are two different genres but that is like asking what is the best movie ever any answer is debatable)
Once I watched After Story, Clannad beat all the other animes down and rushed on ahead leaving everything behind in the dust.
Nagisa is my favorite character in animes, ever. The next one is Konata, but Konata is in a near-goddess status in the community so it doesn’t count :D

Hands down. I found myself crying when watching After Story ep16 and ep18. Damn, it’s definitely the best anime ever (beside Haruhi)

Well, for me, the final 7 episodes were the most touching, and I admit that I cried for all 7 of them. That’s just how great After Story is :D

I can honestly say that this anime was the greatest I have ever seen. I couldn’t believe I found myself crying during the afterstory.. something that I just couldn’t see myself doing. Female leads to me are always crap, but Nagisa’s performance was just different. I also found myself laughing a WHOLE lot during the first season. This anime re leaved a lot of stress I had because it was just that great..

hey there, i stumbled across this page just looking for a picture of clannad to make it my wallpaper and i was smiling as i read through the reasons why you should and shouldn’t watch Clannad. c: it definitely ranks the first on my list of best animes. i had mixed emotions while watching season1, 2 and the movies; totally moved me, especially tomoya!! my ultimate anime character crush after kei from special a went down a notch. c:

In my opinion everyone has their own likes in anime, not everyone has to watch it and not everyon would like it. In my case I am obsessed with this show ever since I read the manga.

Great great show. Especially if you like Haruhi.

My only disappointment is how much the emphasis shifted to the other girls, away from Nagisa. You’re supposed to want him to be with her, but in the middle episodes you find yourself first wanting him & Katomi, and then Tomoyo, and then for him to bang (he totally could have in the gym closet thing) Kyou, (and kind of Ryou, just because you feel bad for her) before finally getting back to Nagisa. Basically the first few episodes had me liking him with Nagisa, and then until like episode 18, I was favoring Tomoyo, and second Kyou. But it does get back to Nagisa, after making you fall in love with the other female characters.

This anime changed my life. . .I was near suicidal, lost all interest in life, had a bad relationship with my dad, etc. Then I watched Clannad and After Story, and it literally turned my life around. Also the only anime to ever bring me to tears. Ive never been more thankful for watching an anime, most definately the best ive ever seen.
