After reading this post by Ephemeral §ol, I put aside my Kinder Bueno and paused to think about this question:

How does the future of Lustrous Realm look like?

It has already been more than 1 month since I first started this anime blog and wrote my first post, and since then, I must admit that I’m actually quite satisfied with the initial responses to my blog. To answer the question above, let me first answer why do I even started this blog in the first place.

Back before 4 October 2007 which is the inauguration day for Lustrous Realm, I remembered I was surfing the net for news on Suzumiya Haruhi. While flipping though the pages on Google, I chanced upon a local anime blogger, Dark Mirage, who was a total Haruhi fanatic. While reading through his interesting posts, an idea just struck me. How good would it be if I could have a blog which I could call my own too! Previously, I do have personal blogs which revolved around my own life, but all of them vanished as soon as they were created as there just weren’t much stuff to blog about in my life. Yes, I lead a boring life.

It was then that I decided to shove my O Levels aside and start working on a new anime blog. I wanted to come up with a cool name too like Dark Mirage, The Ephemeral §ol, Alafista, or Zenime, but all I could think of was stupid names like Silver Fang, White Mirage, Lustrous Crypt, and Rainbow Mist to name a few. In the end, I settled for Lustrous Realm as it sounds pretty cool, at least to me.

The next step was to start blogging. I chose WordPress over Blogger simply because WordPress is more professional, and it allows people to find your posts more easily, thus generating a higher viewership rate. At that time, my first 2 anime posts were on Naruto and One Piece. Bleach was also on my current anime watch-list then. However, besides these 3 animes, I had nothing else to blog about. How can an anime blog be called an anime blog when it only focuses on 3 animes?!?

But very fortunately, I started this anime blog in a season when there are so many new animes waiting for me, and thus I took the chance and watched almost all of them. I have to admit, some of them are pretty good like Clannad and Bamboo Blade. These animes will thus give me something to blog about.

Still, there were times when I had mental blocks and nothing came out of my mind no matter how hard I thought. If this were to continue on, Lustrous Realm would be finished in no time at all. This was where I stopped to think about a solution to this problem.

After racking my brain for almost 3 days, I finally thought of the answer – B.O.N.E². This is actually an acronym which comprises of the words Bleach, One Piece, Naruto, and Everything Else. Yes, since this is MY anime blog, I might as well write about something which I like instead of things which I dislike, even if they are interesting.

For these 3 shows, I will be writing weekly reviews on their latest manga chapters. Their animes are not included simply because I can’t watch them without subtitles. By the time I finish reviewing 1 episode, the next episode will already have been out and by then my post will be considered as outdated. Besides, I can’t possibly compete with Random Curiosity and Zenime. That is just… impossible.

So this is basically how my blog will look like in the future. Saturdays are reserved for the reviews of the 3 mangas (Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto), and the rest of the 6 days will be for my incessant rants on animes and the like. I hope that sounds cool to you all. At least I will have something to blog about every week from now on.
