Summary

The chapter begins by showing that Jiraiya recognized one of the 6 Peins as Yahiko.

Pein said again that Yahiko was dead and this confused Jiraiya. In the past, it was Nagato who had the Rinnegan and yet, Jiraiya saw that none of the 6 Peins bears any resemblance to him but instead, one of them looked like Yahiko. The Ma frog thought that there were 2 destined children. Pein was angered and shouted once again that ‘they’ are Pein and that ‘they’ are God. They then charged at Jiraiya all at once.

The next scene showed Tsunade looking out of the window at the rain outside. She was worried about Jiraiya. Shizune attempted to comfort her but Tsunade said that he won’t come back alive. She said that as her bets usually don’t turn out like what she expects. She hoped that her bet this time would also be incorrect, which means that Jiraiya would indeed come back safely.

The next scene showed Sasuke’s team spotting one of the Akatsuki’s members, Hoshigaki Kisame, who is also Itachi’s partner. Kisame told Sasuke that Itachi was waiting for him and wanted the others to remain there. Sasuke then went ahead alone. Houzuki Suigetsu, one of Sasuke’s assistants, was excited that he finally got the chance to meet Kisame and he requested a fight with him. Kisame accepted the request.

In the next scene, it showed Naruto and his company finally meeting Tobi, or rather Uchiha Madara, the whole mastermind behind Akatsuki. As usual, Tobi was funny in his short conversations with the Konoha ninjas. Out of a sudden, Naruto appeared behind Tobi and directed a Rasengan at him. Unfortunately for him, the Rasengan missed.

Sasuke finally met Itachi face to face and the last scene showed Itachi asking Sasuke what did he see with his Sharingan. Sasuke then replied that he saw it very clearly that Itachi is going to be dead.

One of the Peins really does resemble Yahiko… What could this possibly mean?

Ooohhh~~~ We all love to see sparks forming between Jiraiya and Tsunade!!!

Naruto with his Rasengan which has almost 0% chance of hitting Tobi, the leader of Akatsuki.

Personal Opinions

This is one splendid chapter – 3 major fights in the whole Naruto series packed into a 15-pages manga chapter. Although it doesn’t have any actual fighting scenes, it does shed some light on the amazing stories that await us.

The first one which I’m the most concerned and excited about is still the battle between Jiraiya and Pein. Now my assumption is that Pein, or rather Nagato, is using Yahiko’s body as Yahiko IS indeed dead. Pein might felt that he needed to carry on Yahiko’s will and thus he transferred his soul into his body so that his memories of them together will not fade away. This should be an easy task for him since he has that Rinnegan. This is just my opinion though.

Still, I’m not really interested to know who the heck Pein really is. I just want to know the outcome of the fight between Jiraiya and Pein!!!

Also, Tsunade seemed to have some feelings for Jiraiya (or so I hope). If they are really together, that will be totally great. Imagine a pervert being together with a gorgeous lady with big boobs…

Well, there really isn’t nothing much to say about Naruto’s meeting with Tobi right? As expected, he’s the hyperactive loud-mouthed ninja and so will charge at the opponent without thinking. He’s utterly weak and his attacks will fail. Period.

Now, this is another part of the story which every one anticipates the most – The battle between Sasuke and Itachi. 2 Sharingan users, as well as blood brothers, face off in a death match. Who will emerge as the winner?

I personally feel that now is still too early for Sasuke to face Itachi, Yes, I admit that Sasuke is indeed insanely strong right now as he had defeated both Orochimaru and Deidara, both of whom are S-class wanted ninjas. They are both of the Kage level, meaning that they are easily stronger than Naruto or maybe even Kakashi.

However, Itachi is also stronger than both Orochimaru and Deidara, and he also has the Mangekyou Sharingan (Kaleidoscope Sharingan), which is the strongest level of Sharingan a Uchiha can attain. I doubt Sasuke has that since he didn’t kill Naruto, whom is his best friend, back then in their battle. Itachi even has the supposedly strongest fire element technique, Amaterasu (God of the Sun). I guess this spells trouble for Sasuke.
