Summary

The chapter begins by showing Pein stabbing a long weapon into Jiraiya’s right shoulder.

Jiraiya had beforehand set up a barrier around him and thus, this barrier defeated the Pein who charged right into it. Shortly later, Jiraiya can’t control his chakra and the Pa frog took out the weapon which was the source of Jiraiya’s crazy chakra at that moment. Jiraiya was still very confused over Pein’s real identity, and flashbacks of him and Nagato in their younger days came rolling in.

When the headband of the Pein in front of him dropped, Jiraiya saw the scar on his forehead and remembered who he was. Apparently, Jiraiya fought this ‘Pein’ long ago and he was the one who gave him that scar. Jiraiya was worried about the 2 frogs and told them to go home, but they didn’t listen to him and Pa frog suggested that they should run away for now.

Jiraiya then asked the 2 frogs to bring back the corpse of the Pein lying in front of them back to Tsunade, but Pa frog said that Ma frog alone is enough for this task. Ma frog then transformed. Shortly after, the other 5 Peins found Jiraiya and at that moment, Jiraiya realised that he had met all of the 6 Peins before. Just when Jiraiya figured out their true identities, one of the 5 Peins charged straight at him and dealt a heavy blow right at him.

Just how can Pein (or Nagato) has 6 bodies?!? None of which belonged to him…

Personal Opinions

NO!!! I DON’T WANT YOU TO DIE SO SOON!!! JIRAIYA YOU’RE MY HERO!!! This chapter has a huge impact on me. I felt so worked up after seeing the last picture. Is Jiraiya going to be dead just like this? I seriously want him to live on! He’s definitely one of my favourite characters in Naruto no doubt… If he’s really going to die, I bet I will definitely cry when I watch the anime version of it…

But once again in this chapter, our understanding of Pein’s real identity has gone a step further. It seems that all the 6 bodies of Pein were not the original Pein (or Nagato) himself, but were just all normal ninjas from other countries. I’m not sure why, but this sort of reminds me of Voldemort’s Horcruxes in Harry Potter… It’s as if Pein has the ability to split his soul and place each part of it into another different body, though the maximum for him is 6 bodies.

Well, with his Rinnegan, I’m not surprised if he really is able to accomplish such a task. But if that’s the case, one would have to kill all 6 of them in order to really defeat Pein. (Ok, this really IS Voldemort’s Horcruxes. If you’re confused over the 6 Peins, just relate them to the Horcruxes.) Jiraiya alone simply stands no chance against 6 ninjas with the Rinnegan. Even with Tsunade and Kakashi helping him, I doubt they will be able to defeat Pein. He really is THAT strong.

Overall, I can’t wait for the next chapter as I really want to know Jiraiya’s fate. Is he going to die just like that? Or will he be saved by someone? Let’s just wait patiently for the next chapter.
