It seems a bit late for me to say this since every one had already sent me their best wishes when I was still heartbroken. However, I would still like to make this post which concludes 2007 for me, and what 2008 has in store for me.
Before I begin, I would first like to wish every one a
WONDERFUL 2008 AHEAD!!! MAY ALL YOUR WISHES COME TRUE!!!
4 October 2007 was the day when the otaku blood started to awaken in me, when I started to love to watch animes, and when I started this anime blog. Because of such a short period of time, I could not do any ‘Favourite Series of 2007′ or ‘Most Hated Character of 2007′ kind of stuffs. That’s why I’m going to skip this part.
However, I would still like to mention Lovely Complex, which has never failed to crank and cheer me up in each and every episode. It definitely deserves a place in ‘Top 3 Favourite Comedies of All Time’, though I’m a bit sad that not many people have watched this series, as they are put off by the Kansai dialect. Since I’m not a Japanese, I’m quite neutral towards that and in fact, I feel that the seiyuus’ manner of speaking in this anime is actually quite unique and special, in a positive way of course.

Lovely Complex – One of the funniest comedies ever. No joke.
New Year’s Resolutions
Next up will be my New Year’s Resolutions! All of you will most probably be bored to death by these since I suppose you have already read millions of them in other anime blogs. Well, just bear with me, alright?
*In order of importance; 1 being the most important and 2 being of lesser importance and so on.
1) Make Lustrous Realm a popular anime blog
This is indeed very hard without the support from you guys.
2) Strike a balance between my studies in JC (Junior College) and my otaku lifestyle
I’m scared shitless, seriously. JC life is intimidating. At least for me.
3) Get to know more otakus through anime blogging as well as in my new JC
It’s a total failure in my Secondary School. All of them are Taiwan/Korean/Idol drama addicts, Rubik’s Cube/Rubik’s Revenge/Professor’s Cube crazy solvers, The House of the Dead money wastrel, DOTA/RO/CS/Maple/Audition all-nighters, cookies/muffins bakers, PSPing/Xboxing all the way, singing in the bathroom and breaking all the glasses, and so much more which you can think of.
4) Get my own domain
This seems more like a wish rather than a resolution… But well, I would definitely like to have my own domain so that I can have more freedom to put whatever I like in my blog. A WordPress blog sure has lots of limitations.
5) Achieve JLPT 4 by end of 2008
This is where I’ll need the help of those who took the JLPT. Because of my pathetic language results in PSLE, I was not eligible to take a third or foreign language in my Secondary School days. Because of that, I am once again not eligible to take up Japanese in my new JC because I don’t even have the foundation.
For those who completed JLPT and did not take up any Japanese classes in your Secondary School or JC (My current situation), can you kindly tell me how did you achieve that? If it’s through self-study, I hope you can perhaps recommend me some Japanese textbooks or some online tutorials. I really have a strong passion to learn the Japanese language so that I’ll be able to dive further into the Japanese culture. Hope you guys can help me on this!
6) Saving up money daily…
… and spend 99% of it on figures and other anime products.
7) Never get conned again
What more should I say?
Lustrous Realm v2.0
Since it’s the start of a new year, there would also, of course, be some changes to Lustrous Realm. The first (It’s actually quite old already.) will be those LARGE buttons on the right for easier browsing of the site. Took me quite a long time to figure out how to do that, since this default theme is really very limited in its functions.
The next major change is the banner. Say goodbye to Ace and Blackbeard, and let’s welcome Suiseiseki and Souseiseki! Initially, I intended to put Suiseiseki and Shinku together, since I prefer Shinku to Souseiseki. But on a second thought, Suiseiseki is always seen together with Souseiseki as they are twin sisters after all. I would feel guilty if I separate them. That’s why the end result is what you see now. So do you guys like it?
Last of all, I would like to wish every one once again, A HAPPY 2008 AHEAD!!!
