Summary
The chapter begins by showing the impact and damage caused by Kuma’s bomb.
Every one (except Zoro) instantly fainted and Kuma picked up Luffy’s body and was about to finish him off. Suddenly, Zoro appeared out of nowhere and slashed Kuma’s body. His attack cut through Kuma’s shirt and revealed the machine parts beneath. Zoro came to realize that Kuma was a cyborg just like Franky, but his ‘steel’ is much harder than Franky’s. Kuma then shot a beam from his mouth right at Zoro, who barely dodged it.
Kuma then explained that he was indeed a cyborg, but far beyond Franky’s type. He continued that he was called ‘Pacifista’ and was an incomplete human weapon created by the World Government. The mastermind behind this project is Dr. Vegapunk, the genius scientist from the World Government.
Zoro realized that he had no chance against him and offered his life in exchange for Luffy’s. He held on to the belief that Luffy must be the man who becomes the Pirate King. Sanji heard all of this and offered to exchange his life for Zoro’s, but Zoro knocked him down with a single blow. Zoro hoped that Kuma would keep his promise of leaving the Strawhat pirates unharmed after he dies, and Kuma agreed to it.
Kuma then absorbed the pain and fatigue from Luffy’s body with his Devil Fruit ability and told Zoro that if he wished to die for Luffy, he must experience the suffering which Luffy had while fighting against Moria. Since Zoro didn’t have much energy left, this would most probably result in his death.
After receiving the damage, Kuma finally left. Before leaving, he muttered to himself, “To find such loyal companions, your son is indeed amazing… Dragon…” Soon after, every one was fine and was rejoicing. Only Sanji knew of what happened just now and was looking for Zoro. He found him but was surprised when he saw that he was covered in blood. He asked him what happened and Zoro replied, “Nothing. Nothing at all!”

Personal Opinions
Sad. Very sad. No Dragon, no Ace, no Mihawk, no nothing. Kuma just left like that, leaving me feeling damn disappointed. But this shows that Zoro is no match for a Shichibukai yet. Right now, only Luffy is capable of defeating a Shichibukai. The rest can only assist, nothing more than that. So Zoro is still standing after receiving that HUMONGOUS damage! Or did he really receive it?
That huge amount of suffering is enough to kill a person, and yet Zoro is still standing. I guess that Kuma was actually only testing Luffy’s companions and did not have any intent to kill them. After proving the loyalty of Luffy’s companions, his job was done and he left. And apparently, Kuma seems to know Dragon. That would most certainly be a great twist of events.
Also in this chapter, Dr. Vegapunk was mentioned once again. He seems to play a big role in One Piece and might well be one of the strongest villains who will be fighting against Luffy. However, since the final battle is definitely a battle for One Piece (The treasure, not the anime), it will definitely be a battle between 2 pirates. The Marines would have been wiped out by then, I hope. We know the identity of one of the 2, and would like to know the other.
My best guess would be Blackbeard. He seems perfect for the final villain.

what if ace is the final rival of luffy? hmmmmmmmmmm
(Sorry for the spoiller) Not passible because Ace died trying to protect Luffy
one piece is really exciting!!!!!!!
Thinking that Blackbeard may be the final villain is far far too small for the epic nature of One Piece.
Blackbeard will DEFINITELY play a big role. Marshall D. Teach has the Will of D, and is one of the only villains so far to be revealed as having it.
However, when the crew gets to The New World, a whole new slew of enemies will be in their way.
The strongest villains so far:
- Sengoku (I believe he will not be the main villain, though it is ENTIRELY possible since the World Government has really been taking the role of villainous organization/Evil Empire)
- Whitebeard (At least equal in power to Shanks, and also used to have Blackbeard as a suboordinate–a man who injured Shanks)
- Dragon Dragon has not made another appearance since Logue Town, but his part as Luffy’s father, as well as the most wanted man alive is VERY significant.
- Shanks (A fan favorite since episode 3–the one character we, honestly, all look for in every single intro of the series, and the one very lovable character that has shown to be incredibly significant to the plot. A man who could fight a sword duel to a standstill with Hawkeyes, and whose aura literally causes others to pass out from his presence)
The above mentioned characters are in a league all to their own, and quite definitely the strongest characters as yet shown.
I really believe that the final battle will be between Luffy and Shanks, though perhaps it will end up being something more. Perhaps Gold Roger will reveal himself to be still living, and will actually enter into this. I think the World Council (the 5 old dudes that I forget the name of) are going to be one of the series’ main villains.
I’d like to think that someone other than Shanks will challenge Luffy at the end, Shanks will sacrifice himself as he did before to save Luffy, and Luffy will rage to defeat the attacker…who I think could be only someone massively villainous.
whitebeard’s dead
Zoro u are the best!
"Why does he always say things which make people misunderstand! That idiot."

I had a theory about how all the Shichibukai are connected in some way… they are all old nakama of Gol.d roger. My Guess is that Kuma sees another Crew just like Roger’s in the Straw hats, and a feeling of nostalgia comes over him.
ok, back to the chapter. Zoro probably received the Damage, and will probably collapse from blood loss afterwards. He might then Tell Luffy that in order to survive in the new world, he will need more than just 9 of them, and they will need to get more expendable people, using the Rolling pirates as an example. Luffy will reply that nobody is expendable, and they all have dreams. Zoro would probably smile at this, saying that Luffy is still willing to be captain, and lead the group through hell and back in order to achieve their dreams. or something like that.
the fact that Vegapunk is mentioned could be important, but on the other hand, he could just be a background character whom everyone refers to. I Disagree that the final battle is going to be between 2 pirate crew’s, Because there are so many possibilities for big villains. Fleet Admiral Sengoku, for example, or possibly a new villain, who wants to get rid of the age of piracy because of some cause.
I Also hate the way people are always so quick to label Blackbeard as the big end villain. Yes, he may be powerful and done a lot of bad things in his time, but he is almost exactly the same as Luffy, Gluttonous, head full of dreams and determined. Also, think about how many other people are willing to become pirate king. Luffy duking it out with Shanks would be very interesting, or Whitebeard as well. Don’t judge a big, scary, darkness-controlling pirate by his cover.
