One Piece 488 – The Pirate Spirit of Brook

Summary
The chapter begins with Brook reminiscing about the past.
He remembered the sad day when his whole pirate crew was wiped out and with their last bit of energy left, they played the last song of their lives. In the end, his nakama slowly died one by one and he was he was left alone.
The story then returned back to reality. Brook hoped that Laboon could wait for him for another year or two and that when he meet him again, he would be climbing over Reverse Mountain.
End
What would his bounty be?

Personal Opinions
This is indeed one of the saddest past stories of One Piece characters. As usual, Oda never fails to touch us with his wonderful storytelling. The part on quartet becoming trio becoming duet and finally, becoming solo really made me feel very emotional…
Well, I suppose Brook would join the Strawhat pirates in order to meet Laboon at the other side of Reverse Mountain. What I’m interested to find out though is the value of Brook’s bounty…
My guess is 28,000,000 beli. That’s even lower than Usopp’s!

A very touching moment for anyone who read it. I feel sorry for Oda, him having to actually draw the Yorki pirates dropping one by one, until it is just brook left, it must have been heart wrenching.
Anyway, I’m glad that Brook will join the strawhats, because in forums I have visited there have been a number of people who said he wouldn’t. This chapter proves them wrong!
His bounty looks like its going to be 36,000,000. a reasonable bounty, but one with no long stands, him being dead… in a sense.
Where to next?! off to Gyojin Island, to Meet Jimbei (Hopefully as a friend, I’m tired of having all Shichibukai being unforgivable bastards), and possibly?hopefully pick up a new crewmate. My guest is somebody to do with artillery (Old fashioned rockets, mines, etc, might get along with Ussop and franky well)

So his bounty is 33 million… Quite low I must say.
And I hope it’s not Gyojin Island… Let’s hope Luffy’s gonna go save Ace!

its good that brooke gets tegether with luffy and the strawhats. after all, in the beginning luffy did say he needed a musician. but the sad story of brook is just to much to handle. besides he ate the fruit that kept him alive , so its sorta his own fault.

I would like to make a correction, or at least an addition to the beginning. Brook died along with his Nakama, his body deteriorated to the skeleton until his soul found it’s way back to the body by means of his life life fruit (might not be the right name)
so he didn’t just watch his nakama die he died along with them, he was just the last to go.
