Naruto 389 – OMG!!! It’s Finally AMATERASU!!!

Summary
The chapter begins with Zetsu explaining that Amaterasu is an attack which burns anything that enters the eye’s field of vision to cinders with a black flame.
Itachi was about to form the seals but Sasuke was faster than him and managed to stop him with his Shadow Shuriken Technique. Because of the side effects of Tsukuyomi, Itachi wasn’t able to dodge that and he suffered some damage. Sasuke then used the Grand Fireball Technique and Itachi jumped up high in order to dodge that. Up in the air, Sasuke used Chidori on Itachi and Itachi reacted with his Grand Fireball Technique. Sasuke managed to defend himself against that attack by going into Curse Seal Level 2 and defending himself with the wing.
Both of them then used the Grand Fireball Technique together and Itachi’s attack was being pushed back by Sasuke’s. Just when Itachi’s Grand Fireball Technique was about to be extinguished, he unleashed Amaterasu.
Black flame was emitted from Itachi’s right eye and it consumed Sasuke’s attack.

Personal Opinions
It has been ages since I’ve seen another wonderful Naruto chapter like this. (The last being the fight between Jiraiya and Pain. The middle were all kinda crappy to me.)
Anyway, I believe that all of us are extremely excited to see Amaterasu! Even if you’re one who hate both Sasuke and Itachi, there’s no doubt you’ll still be amazed by this attack because it is simply THAT amazing and cool!
An attack which burns anything within the eye’s field of vision… That’s just plain wicked. But I must still say, Sasuke has really caught up to Itachi in terms of basic combat skills. However, would he be able to stand up against Itachi’s supposedly strongest attack?
I really would like to see Sasuke counter that with his self-devised attacks… But maybe he would simply conjure up an illusion so that he could escape Itachi’s Amaterasu. But Sasuke is at an extremely disadvantaged position…
What do you guys think would happen to Sasuke? Would he die or live? My guess is that he would still live, but he would definitely be severely injured.
Still, I can’t see how Sasuke can escape the DEADLY AMATERASU…

itachi must be pretty desperate to use amaterasu. i thought he wanted sasuke’s eyes; but now itachi’s trying to completely incinerate him. if this attack succeeds, there’d be no eye for itachi to pluck (assuming amaterasu indeed does what they say it does).
on the other hand, sasuke once escaped deidara’s suicide attack, which, if i can remember correctly, covers about 10km of radius. that’s, by far, a larger range than amaterasu’s. he can pull off a similar trick.

maybe it would burn off one of his freaky hand-wings as they cover him from the blast. how does amaterasu work? everything that itachi sees in that very second like a cameras picture? or can he look at alot of stuff as in a video recorder and have frickin lazerbeams ! nah kidding . it seems cool just wondering

jcp..sasuke used a summon to escape deidaras’ explosion..now that the summon is DEAD, how can he use the same strategy?? lol.

Two possibilities, one less plausible, but possible. 1) Sasuke has a snake skin shed trick like Orochimaru up his sleeve. 2) Naruto somehow tagged along unnoticed or shows up with his Wind jutsu to beat back the flames. Perhaps, incinerating Itachi. What makes version 2 (the less plausible one) interesting. It would allow the Sasuke vs. Naruto storyline to progress. What would irritate Sasuke more than to have Naruto be the one to kill Itachi (even if Naruto was only trying to save Sasuke).

ohya that would be interesting now that sasuke has no reason to fight and can be friends again. but naruto is fighitng tobi with the rest of the shinobi! the summon was manda the snake boss right? he is dead?

I’d go for number 2 out of Ogamiltto’s options, only Itachi survives. The fight between sasuke and Naruto lasts 1 second, both kill each other, leading to the end of Narutardation.

considering the facts that sasuke has already reached or even surpassed itachi in terms of basic skill, sasuke will be obviously the winner but however it will not be that easy. Concerning itachi’s amaterasu, sasuke will surely ‘block’ the attack or will simply escape from it due to his insane running speed!!!…itachi is not able to adapt to sasuke’s speed. C’mon sasuke u can do it….NO, u will do it!!

paul@ i don’t think zetsu will get burnt since he is not in the field of itachi’s eye. Amaterasu will burn everything within the field of the user’s vision!!

i think sasuke will escape using a jutsu he gained from conquering orochimaru. (which i don’t know right now!)

if i understood it correctly, sasuke summoned manda, hid inside manda’s body, unsummoned manda and wait for someone in his team to re-summon manda’s dying body. he could simply summon another giant snake and do the same trick.
that made me realize.. sasuke was pretty dumb to use oro’s most powerful snake as sacrifice. he could’ve used a weaker one as long as he could fit inside.

i think itachis gonna die and then sasuke is gonna pluck the eyes out of itachs head!!! i also think that madara is gonna take kakashis sharingan eye because madara only has 1 eye(or so it is assumed)but i dont want that 2 happen bacause kakashi is my favorite charecter!! and ive found out that there is a 3rd mangakyou sharingan technique called susanoo and it is assumed to be kakashis mangekyou sharingan technique but it isnt ceartin

itachi is not fighting as his best b/c of the illness is what zetsu says to madara also itachi is not evil like most people think he is if you want to know the true story of the uchiha clan and the leaf village then just go to onemanga.com to read about the true reason he massacred his clan and also why sasuke “temporarily” joins akatsuki

sasuke doesn’t beat itachi he dies of his illness and at the end itachi really wins

If Sasuke survives Amaterasu then Itachi is seriously screwed… his eyes seems beyond repair.
