Bleach 311 – Zaraki Kenpachi is serious! Two Arms VS. Six Arms!

Summary
The chapter begins with Nnoitra telling Kenpachi that he could kiss his ass goodbye.
In the next instance, Kenpachi started to laugh madly and they began to fight once again. Even after getting slashed by Nnoitra countless times, Kenpachi was still fighting. Nnoitra thought that he’s a lunatic and a son of a bitch.
They then stopped for a while and Kenpachi said that if this went on, he might really die. He then said that if he were to grab hold of his sword with both hands, he would be able to do some serious damage. Nnoitra felt insulted and charged towards him. Kenpachi then swung down his sword with both of his hands as hard as he could.

Even after all these sword wounds, Kenpachi is still standing!!!

Personal Opinions
WTF? All along, I thought Kenpachi is gonna surprise us with a super cool Shikai or Bankai. Now, he gives us this crap of using two hands to attack. I can’t imagine how strong he is gonna get with that alone. If Kenpachi’s gonna win this fight by using this ‘method’ (Do you even consider this a method?!?) alone, I must say that Tite really has lost all of his creative brain juice. At least show us some twists or special skills of his instead of just some senseless sword clashes! We are bored of that already!

Nope. You’re COMPLETELY WRONG! This has nothing to do with 2 hands method or anything. The point is completely different.
Remember how Kenpachi and his sword reduce each other’s strength. Weilding with two hands, or the “WAY OF THE SWORD”, is meant to be a stance that shows respect to the sword itself. This removes the damage done to Kenpachi by not being aligned.
In essence, now Kenpachi is using his strength along with the sword’s, while earlier he was simply using his own strength.
This is a majot COOLNESS point for Kenpachi. Why? Because Nnoitra is not eanough for Kenpachi to need a Shikhai even!
This is another highlight of how freaskishly powerful Kenpachi is, and why none of the other captains, Aizen included, would ever want to mess with Zaraki in a pure strength basaed sword fight.
Look at Zaraki’s net negatives:
Bells in hair
Rieatsu eating eyepatch
disharmony with sword
absence of shikai
absence of bankai
this guy beat two captains with aLL of these in place. Espada #5 is only good enough to push him to harmony with sword. Maybe #2 or #1 would make him use a Shikai.

correction. Kenpachi is still not using any of the sword’s inner strength. He is simply no longer suffering from a damage done to his strength by being in disharmony with the sword.

correction again, its obvious that holding a sword with 1 hand is weaker than holding a sword with 2 hands!!!…kenpachi is not still using any of his inner strength!!!…only his pure strength..isn’t it great!!

Kenpachi’s sword is already in shikai form due to his huge spiritual power. But we never got to see its real power since Kenpachi does not know its name as yet. I was also expecting more out of this fight than just mere sword fighting and use of force/power. Lets see.

This begs the question… How the hell did Ichigo ever EVER in a million years beat Kenpachi? I’m just not seeing it anymore. What made Ichigo so special back then?

i can’t see how kenpachi can be a match for noitora. Kenpachi got beaten by ichigo (shikai). note that ichigo (bankai) cannot cut grimmjaw who is a weaker espada (unless ichigo uses getsuga).
on a similar note, tosen (shikai) can barely cut kenpachi in their fight. ichigo (shikai) can cut kenpachi. ichigo (bankai) cannot cut grimmjaw (unless he uses getsuga). how come tosen easily cut and burned grimmjaw’s arm?

@jcp: Because power levels in Bleach don’t exist like that. Maybe it’s best to think of it as a game Rock-Paper-Scissors. Though it’s clearly not A>B, B>C, therefore A>C.

Indeed I was using transitivity, but not on the matter of winning and losing. I believe as well winning/losing battles is not a matter of “A>B and B>C, therefore A>C”. ie, kenpachi could’ve been pawned by Zaera Poro thru his dirty tricks.
But I believe the term i used was “cut”, and I remember kenpachi stating that cutting or being cut is all about spiritual pressure/reiatsu.
Hm… it is possible that aizen may have used the hougyoku on gin and tousen, or even himself. after all, his goal is to surpass his limits.

every captain must learn this move as stated in the later manga just go to onemanga.com kenpachis my fav character and they wont show his shikai yet but you know he has it remember after the fight with echigo he said he wants to get stronger and asked his sword for its name so you know hes learnt it by now just chooses not to to make the fight more intersing and kenpachi beat this guy sorry to spoil things but ive read the next 15 chapters and this espada has nothing on the one ikkaku or yumichika is fighting.

keep in mind tousen was basically a low level captain at the start til aizen defected. obviously in order to control the espada he used the hogyoukus power to “buff” gin and tousen. also, ichigo in the ss arc fight vs kenpachi didnt use his own power in the final blow. kenpachi was toying with him most of the fight and zangetsu took over ichigos body to win. and kenpachis zanpakuto is like ichigos. constantly stuck in shikai state due to their enormouse reitsu, although kenpachis shikai is just for looks because of his absence of the unity of his soul slayer and him
in soulsociety:
Kenpachi>ichigo
kenpachi=zangetsu
Kenpachi>tousen
the only reason tousen was able to cut grimmjows arm off was hogyouku’s power boost. do you really think the espada would fear him and gin otherwise?

that good but then again ichigo has no control over his energy right. and kenpachi told him that in there fight so ichigo just made it better by concentrating his edge to be sharper. and tousen has compleat control over his energy all he has to do is the same as ichi concentrate and his blade is stronger then ichigo. shaper edge then just flinging your sword around right. but in raw power ichi i say would win. and two hands are better then one.

in a style of fighting where a person fights with two swords all he has to do as a ace in the hole is drop one sword and use the power of both hand on one swing cuasing way more damage the normal.

All of you who keep begging to see Zaraki’s Shikai are morons. It’s right in goddamn front of you.
You obviously know nothing about Kenpachi Zaraki. You keep saying that you want to see his Shikai, yet if you bothered to read the chapters of when Zaraki first fought Ichigo, you would know that his sword is always in it’s Shikai form. How about you go back and read up on the rest of this series before you make a further ass of yourself.
You can’t blame Tite Kubo for your inability to comprehend simple reading.

to Jeff, it was never in its shikai form. He said it was in its released state. A released state is the most powerful form of zanpaktou. If someone can only go up to shikai, it is the swords released state. If someone can go up to bankai, that is their zanpaktou’s realeased state. All of its power has been released, hence released state. If Kenpatchi really had shikai, how come it has never shown any unusual powers or look different. The only think that is differnet is that it is all cut up.

bottom line, kenpachi kicked the #5 espadas a$$ just by swinging his sword with both hands. That means that if he had wanted he could have killed nnoitra with one blow. Also, kenpachi has, at the most, only exhibited his shikai as of yet. And that’s without voicing it’s name or using a special technique. Also if everyone remembers, even ichigo had to learn zangetsu’s name before he was able to weild him, back in chapter 66 or something when training with kisuke. Ichigo was barely able to beat grimmjow with bankai + hollow mask, while kenpachi totally dismantled nnoitra without even using a shikai technique. Could ichigo have beaten grimmjow in his shikai state by gripping his sword with both hands?
HELL NO. Imagine kenpachi with bankai and hollow powers. Kenpachi is on a whole other level

maybe someone mentioned this.. but Kenpachi does have a Shikai
his is like Ichigo’s.. It’s just in shikai form all the time because he has soo much energy he can’t keep it the sword in it’s normal state.

i just want to say a few things…
1: Kenpachi PWNS!!! (but you all already knew that :P )
2: If he managed to find his swords name, and achieve shikai, he would be EVEN MORE PWN!!
3: The reason he could kill Nnoitra, when Ichigo could barely beat Grimmjow, is because Kenpachi is just insane. He ignores the rules of physics, such as, if A=B (Ichigo beat him) and B=C (Grimmjow beat Ichigo) then A=C, and Grimmjow should be able to beat Kenpachi, who ends up killing Nnoitra (Who is stronger than Grimmjow)…
as i said, he’s just insane, and likes to ignore things like that

I HAVE A SEROUS QUESTION FOR EVERYONE ON HERE……. WHAT COLOR IS ZARAKI KENPACHI. WHITE, BLACK, OR JUST PLAIN JAPANESE? I WAS THINKING HE WAS BLACK BUT ALOT OF PEOPLE SAYS HE IS JUST PLAIN JAPANES. SO I WANT TO KNOW YOUR ANSWERS.

Also during ichigos fight with kenpachi, ichigos hollow power was also used. On the undead 3 chapter you can see a picture of his hollows mask in the background durin his power up. Also ichigo’s mask prevented kenpachi from slicing him in half.

nahh..whenever kenpachi fight, he always hold his katana with 1 hand…its obvious he will hit with greater impact but then both of his hands will be engaged with 1 sword….noitora have the advantage since he has 6 swords & 6 hands..
