Summary

The chapter begins by showing Luffy and Brook asking Caimey some weird questions like “Do you poop?”

Luffy then noticed Pappagg, the starfish which came with Caimey. Caimey explained that Pappagg is her pet as well as her master. Luffy was perplexed by why Pappagg could talk, and Pappagg went on and explain that back when he was still a kid, he used to think that he was a human. By the time he realized that he was a starfish, he was already speaking human language.

Caimey then called her friend, Hacchin, over the Den-den Mushi. However, the one who picked up the call was Makuro, who said that he had captured Hacchin with the help of the Flying Fish Riders. Makuro told her to go to the base of the Flying Fish Riders to save Hacchin if she wants. Nami offered to help her save her friend. In return, Caimey was to tell them how to get to Merman Island. Caimey was overjoyed and agreed.

Caimey then called for the fishes in the ocean to guide them towards their destination. The fishes formed a huge arrow in the sea and was pointing the way for Thousand Sunny. Pappagg said that the “Flying Fish Riders” only recently made a ruckus around these parts, and their boss is Duval, and he wears an iron mask. He’s been searching the seas for a particular person.

Suddenly, the fishes dispersed and up in the sky, the Flying Fish Riders were there. They reported back to Duval that that ship belonged to the Strawhat Pirates. Duval then exclaimed that that ship was the one which he has been searching for all this while and he would definitely kill the man who destroyed his life.

Personal Opinions

LOL Is Hacchin really that octopus which Zoro once fought with? I’m definitely eager to find that out… But judging from Oda’s wacky ideas, Hacchin may well be that octopus’ mother or father or brother or sister and the list goes on. Also, it seems that it would be quite long before Jimbei shows his face, since a new antagonist, Duval, just pops up all of a sudden. I suppose we’re all interested to find out the face beneath that mask. Would it be a familiar face? If it is, I certainly can’t think of any past characters who could be him.
