Bleach -107 - Kisuke’s balls are made of brass?!?
Summary
The chapter begins with Shinji saying that Kisuke, the new 12th Squad Captain, looks like a slacker.
Yoruichi, the 2nd Squad Captain and Commander of the “Insert whatever words here” Units then, told Kisuke to mingle with the rest of the Captains. The 1st Squad Captain then announced to the rest of the Captains that a successor for the previous 12th Squad Captain, Hikifune, had been found. He was Urahara Kisuke and he was nominated by Yoruichi. He was formerly in her Squad and held the position of 3rd Seat. After going through the Captains’ proficiency test, he was proven worthy of the promotion.
When meeting his new subordinates, Hiyori, the 12th Squad Lieutenant then, gave Kisuke a hard time. She preferred the ex-Captain, Hikifune, and disliked Kisuke. Before leaving, she gave him a hard kick right at his balls. After that, her legs were in pain and thought that Kisuke’s balls were made of brass.
The next scene showed Kisuke sitting alone at a corridor. Shinji then appeared besides him and began to talk to him. He told Kisuke that Hiyori has always treated Hikifune as a motherly figure, and that it would be hard for him to replace her. Kisuke then replied saying that all he wanted was to build a friendly relationship with her and that it would be idiotic for him to try to replace Hikifune.
Shinji then replied by saying that sympathizing with your subordinates will only put you in a dangerous position. He continued by saying that ultimately, Kisuke’s success or failure would be determined by the loyalty of his division.
Saying that, he took his leave and also revealed the presence of Aizen, who was eavesdropping at them.
The next scene showed Kisuke meddling with the room of the ex-12th Squad Captain, which was now Kisuke’s new room. Hiyori was extremely angry by it and punched Kisuke in the face. After that, Kisuke then asked Hiyori to escort him to the Nest of Maggots.

Personal Opinions
A pretty boring chapter to me, except that we now know that Yoruichi was indeed the 2nd Squad Captain a century back. But that’s not the main issue about this chapter. There’s another thing for us to debate about and that’s the identity of that old Captain.
As you can see from the second last picture, he’s also wearing a white scarf around his neck, just like the present Kuchiki Byakuya does. If that’s the case, I suppose he’s from the Kuchiki clan, and that he should be the 6th Squad Captain. This would mean my guess that Isshin was the 6th Squad Captain would be wrong.
Well, what do you guys think about it?

This is a pair of steel balls. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is decorated with steel and steel.and encicrled with bands of steel. It menances with spikes of steel.

Well, now that the 6th squad Captain has pretty much been revealed as a Kuchiki, it only moves us closer to the revelation that Ishin is indeed Kenpachi. Then, depending on whether Kensei is 9th or 10th (which somebody made a good case for 9th based on his sleevlessness) that leaves 2 people- 10th and 11th Captains. Hopefully we’ll have these answers pretty soon.
Oh, welsper84, there are 11 pictured- Urahara (12th) and Yamamoto (1st) are the two shadows at the base of the door. It shows 9 up close and the two from afar- I have no idea why they decided to make the room seem 10 miles long.

Did anyone else notice a younger Byakuya, sans the long hair and scarf, behind the old man as vice-captain? I think the 6th Captain’s position is in the Kuchiki family dynasty.

yeah, 9th through 11th are question marks, but we know kensei is either 9th or 10th. Ichigo’s pop has got to fit in somewhere, and since Kenpachi is only a title, we can presume we’re still misssing one name. It would be pretty cool if Isshin is 11th, and a Captain’s class would explain his crazy power and why he knows Urahara and all the Vizards.
