Bleach -106 - When Urahara Kisuke meets Kurotsuchi Mayuri…
Summary
The chapter begins by showing Yoruichi allowing Kisuke to continue with whatever he was doing.
It was then explained that the Onmitsukidou was actually independent of the Gotei 13, but if the leader of the Onmitsukidou decided to be a Captain of the Gotei 13, the Onmitsukidou would most probably be under the Captain’s Division’s beck and call, thus blurring the autonomy between the two groups. The Onmitsukidou consists of five divisions, each led by someone called the Gundanchou, and Kisuke once held this position.
Kisuke explained to Hiyori that their duty was to capture all shinigami in the Gotei 13 potential of creating trouble and detain them in the Nest of Maggots, which can be found inside the walls of the Second Division. They finally reached the Nest of Maggots and Kisuke told Hiyori that everyone detained there haven’t actually done anything wrong, and Hiyori was pretty angry over it. Kisuke then asked her whether she knew any classmates who withdrew from the Gotei 13. Kisuke then told her that should they withdraw from Gotei 13, they would be brought to the Nest of Maggots against their will.
Kisuke continued and explained that it is a privilege to be amongst the ranks of the Gotei 13, and individuality is not allowed. He felt that if the residents in the Nest of Maggots were given a chance, wouldn’t it be a win-win situation then?
Out of a sudden, a resident there attacked Hiyori, who had forgotten her blade. Kisuke explained that weapons of any kind are not allowed on the premises, thus it is necessary for all Gundanchous to have the ability stop any one of them using their bare hands.
They then moved deeper and came to an underground cell. Kisuke told Hiyori that the person behind the cage was the only one who was confined within a cage of any kind. That person was Kurotsuchi Mayuri, the present 12th Squad Captain. Kisuke asked him whether he would like to accompany him on a little trip.

Personal Opinions
Wow! Another superb twist aside from the one in Naruto. Right after Kisuke became the 12th Squad Captain, he visited the current 12th Squad Captain, Mayuri. Just what could these two mad scientists want with one another? And I’m surprised too that someone in the Nest of Maggots could actually become a Captain… Aren’t they potentially harmful to the Gotei 13? Why on earth would that senile Yamamoto still allow him to be a Captain? I guess that would require another twist in the story…
Also, another mystery would be Mayuri’s true face. From the top picture, he still had that silly mask on which made him look like a perverted monkey in my opinion… I remember vaguely that there was once when he was seen in his naked body while bathing and he had no mask on… Still, his true face remains a mystery, just like Kakashi’s. I really would like to see their faces!!!

mayuri had a more retro hairstyle in this chapter hmmm, reminds me of something from marvel comics.
i’m praying for this Past Arc to last a full 108 chapters… instead of just 8… soo much interesting stuff going on…
Hmmm, the idea of arresting people before they even commit the crime. Reminds me of the movie Minority Report where they use pre-cogs to arrest people.
